Kanye West News: Rapper Praises Wife’s Nude Grammy Outfit
Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, has spoken out about his wife’s recent nude appearance on the Grammys red carpet. Bianca Censori surprised photographers and the world when she dropped her fur coat at the February 2 event to reveal she was wearing a completely sheer slip dress with nothing underneath.
Addressing the viral moment and subsequent backlash, the rapper called his wife “brave” and admitted he had a hand in putting together the now infamous look. “My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world,” Ye wrote in an X post on February 6. “I was staring in admiration that night thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot... We tailored that invisible dress 6 times And just like magic poof we disappeared.”
Despite stepping onto the red carpet, the couple didn’t actually attend the award ceremony, which sparked speculation that the two had been kicked out due to Censori’s nudity. Multiple sources were able to confirm, however, that the couple voluntarily left after walking the red carpet. Raj Kapoor, the ceremony’s executive producer, told People the couple didn’t have reserved seats likely due to the fact that Ye wasn’t presenting or performing during the telecast. His song with Ty Dolla $ign “Carnival” was nominated for Best Rap Song, but the award went to Kendrick Lamar during the afternoon Premiere Ceremony.
The 47-year-old ended his social media post with a swipe at those who criticized him directly for his wife’s outfit. “People asked how would your mother feel,” he added. “You don’t know my mama b––.” Ye’s mother died in November 2007.
Who Is Kanye West?
Kanye West, whose legal name is Ye, made his mark on the music industry as a producer before launching his own massively successful hip-hop and rap career. He first showcased his abilities as a rapper with his 2004 debut, College Dropout, and cemented his place atop The legal team for Jay-Z says allegations of sexual assault against the rapper in an ongoing civil lawsuit are “provably demonstrably false.” An unnamed Alabama woman filed an amended lawsuit on December 8 accusing the 55-year-old music mogul and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her at a party in 2000. The accuser was 13 years old at the time of the alleged incident. Jay-Z vehemently denies the allegations and filed a new motion to dismiss the suit on January 8. According to Variety, the request cited inconsistencies in the accuser’s account of the incident. In a social media post released by his company Roc Nation, he detailed how the accusations have affected his wife Beyoncé and their three kids. “My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence,” his statement read. Jay-Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro held a news conference December 16 to outline inconsistencies he believes prove the allegations are false. He expects the case to be dropped. “If it’s not, eventually this will all crumble, because it can’t possibly have happened mathematically,” he said. American rapper, songwriter, and producer Jay-Z is one of the best-selling artists of all time. He has won 24 Grammy Awards throughout his career, which includes 14 No. 1 albums and hit songs such as “Hard Knock Life,” “Big Pimpin’,” and “Empire State of Mind.” Growing up in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects, he used rap as an escape and appeared for the first time on Yo! MTV Raps in 1989. He’s sold millions of records with his Roc-a-Fella label, created his own clothing line, and founded an entertainment company, all ventures that helped him become a billionaire. He has been married to My little brother is Kanye [West],” Jay-Z told David Letterman in 2018. Two years ago, he and his one-time protégé had gone through a very public falling out over his decision to skip West’s marriage to Kim Kardashian. By this point, the duo had known each other for almost two decades. They first met in 2000, after West produced a track for Beanie Sigel, a signee to Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records. Label boss Damon Dash was impressed with the young Chicagoan’s flair for beat-making. He pencilled him in for Jay’s next project. These days, it’s hard to imagine Kanye West being nervous about anything. He’s one of the most outlandish stars of his time, brash and overconfident to a fault. Certainly not someone you could accuse of lacking in self-belief. Remember, this is the man who once said his greatest pain was that he would never be able to see himself perform live. The one who has compared himself over the years to Steve Jobs, Michael Jordan, Andy Warhol, Walt Disney, Pablo Picasso and Socrates. But coming face-to-face with Jay-Z in the studio, where they created the beat for “This is the Life”, the 23-year-old was apparently so intimidated that he struggled to say “hello” to the man who would soon become his mentor and label boss. Their early collaboration marked the beginnings of a bond that would not only spawn the opulent collaborative album Watch the Throne, but also “Monster”, “Run This Town”, and many other tracks that have helped shape the last 20 years in hip-hop. Their early days were marked by all-night studio sessions, where they would play beats and lay down rhymes until exhaustion kicked in. One of their very first big successes came when Jay started to assemble his influential album The Blueprint, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The first beat West played was “Heart of the City (Ain’t No Love)” and the second was “Never Change”, two affecting stando Ye, born Kanye Omari West on June 8, 1977, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and fashion designer. He is one of the most prominent figures in hip hop, known for his diverse musical style and polarizing cultural and political commentary. After dropping out of college to pursue a career in music, West began producing for regional artists in the Chicago area. As an in-house producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, he co-produced albums including Jay-Z's The Blueprint (2001) before signing with the label as a recording artist. West's debut studio album, The College Dropout (2004), received critical acclaim and produced the Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "Slow Jamz." He topped the chart four other times with the singles "Gold Digger" (2005), "Stronger" (2007), "E.T." (2011, as a featured artist), and "Carnival" (2024). West's second and third studio albums, Late Registration (2005) and Graduation (2007), both debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, with the latter becoming his most commercially successful to date. Three of his subsequent albums—808s & Heartbreak (2008), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), and The Life of Pablo (2016)—were certified triple platinum, while Yeezus (2013) was certified double platinum. Although not as well-received critically as his previous works, Ye (2018), Jesus Is King (2019), and Donda (2021) continued West's streak of consecutive number-one debuts on the Billboard 200. West has also released collaborative albums including Watch the Throne (2011) with Jay-Z, Kids See Ghosts (2018) with Kid Cudi, and Vultures 1 and Vultures 2 (2024) with Ty Dolla Sign.
