Initial visibility
This template's initial visibility currently defaults to , meaning that if there is another collapsible item on the page (a navbox, sidebar, or table with the collapsible attribute), it is hidden apart from its title bar; if not, it is fully visible.
To change this template's initial visibility, the parameter may be used:
- will show the template collapsed, i.e. hidden apart from its title bar.
- will show the template expanded, i.e. fully visible.
Templates using the classes ({{navbox}}) or ({{sidebar}}) are not displayed in article space on the mobile web site of English Wikipedia. Mobile page views account for approximately 68% of all page views (90-day average as of September 2024). Briefly, these templates are not included in articles because 1) they are not well designed for mobile, and 2) they significantly increase page sizes—bad for mobile downloads—in a way that is not useful for the mobile use case. Congratulations Miss World 2012 于文霞, but Why do Haters target Pageant Queens?
So Finally there’s another Chinese Miss World to go along with other Chinese Miss Universes and so on through the decades!
Miss. Yu (Wenxia ), no relations to me, won Miss World 2012. That is hardly shocking. The usual round of discussions about who deserved it and who didn’t were bantered about by the world media along with the usual pro-pageant and anti-pageant feminist debate!
This is hardly interesting, dear readers for yours truly to blog this event. There are Hundreds of thousands of beautiful, intelligent and accomplished young women all over the world using their looks and brains to promote charities by entering beauty pageants! Some of them even get a scholarship for themselves in America and go on to become the next generation of actress, doctors, lawyers, scientists etc. I don’t even want to give any credence to the stupid and jealous rants of unaccomplished women who want to Bash them; any more than I would give the time of the day to any male lecher who oggle them all their lives!
So why am I writing this, you may ask? Because I am sick of the racism disguised as “criticism” in the beauty pageant game! No, not from the judges or organisors but from the stupid people that feel the need to nit-pick at other people’s lives incessantly because they do not have lives of their own!
Let me break it down for you in an open Letter to “angry, nasty and jealous” women who want to attack and criticise many of these beautiful women (some of whom have been my friends for over x2 decades!). Yes, I speak also from the point of view of a former Miss Chinese International Pageant finalist (yes, I got down to the final 12 and then went on in the Australia Pageant to the final 5!). In the same year my dear friend Nicole entered the Miss Australia Beauty Pageant. By the way, Congratulations to Miss Australia Jessica Kahawaty who i The Prettiest Woman in the World: Miss World 2012, Miss China P.R. Yu Wenxia (Chinese: 于文霞; pinyin: Yú Wénxiá; born 5 July 1989) is a Chinese actress, tv host, singer, model and beauty queen who won Miss World 2012 in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, the second Chinese national to do so after Zhang Zilin in 2007. The second of two daughters to farming parents, she was born on 5 July 1989 in Shangzhi, Heilongjiang in northeast China. She completed a four-year university course in Chinese Folk Music at Harbin University. She is currently studying at Harvard University in the United States. On 30 June 2012, Yu was crowned Miss China 2012 at the Jinhai Lake Resort in Beijing. On 18 August 2012, Yu won the 2012 Miss World pageant held in Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, China. She was also named Miss Talent, where she performed her winning talent—Chinese folk song on stage during the final. When asked how she felt at winning the Miss World crown, she replied: Surprised and very happy. Winning Miss World is a big responsibility; there is so much to learn. I really admire Zhang Zilin, my country's first Miss World winner, I hope to follow her example, but at the same time make my own mark. I very much look forward to working with the Miss World Organisation sharing my compassion and love and helping to improve the lives of many people throughout my year of reign. During her reign as Miss World, Yu traveled to the United Kingdom, Italy, France, South Africa, India, Australia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, United States, Haiti, Brazil, Turkey, Ghana, Hungary, Ukraine and China. On the grand final of Miss World 2013, Yu performed "Tanzette" along with the Talent competition winner an SASHES AND TIARAS.....Miss World 2012 Finals: Winner, Gowns
And The New Miss World Is...
This past weekend--on Saturday April 18th--the finals of the 62nd annual Miss Worldpageant took place. They were held in Ordos Inner Mongolia China. 116 contestants from all over the world competed and the final winner was crowned: Miss China P.R. Yu Wenxia (or Wen Xia Yu), who hails from Liaoning. She's 23 years old, stands 1.78 m tall (approximately 5' 10") and according to her bio, is an aspiring music teacher.
Incidentally, Yu Wenxia(above) also won the Miss World Talent Award--beating out the favorite Miss PhilippinesQueenierich Rehmanwho did beatboxing(!) as her talent. The new Miss World will now spend her year working for charitable causes, fulfilling her duties traveling around the Globe racking up her frequent flyer miles, and yes, looking GORGEOUS.
As always, there's been a great Web-o-sphere debate, discussing whether or not she had a "home field" advantage and if she was the "best" or prettiest one of the bunch . Early favorites were Miss Mexico, Miss Indiaand Miss South Sudan--who eventually took the Miss World Top Model 2012consolation prize (more on that, further in this post).
A lot of pageant followers (Missosologistsas they are called), say that it was "fixed"--the pageant was in China, and the Ordos Inner Mongolia China organizers spent A TON (billions of dollars at some estimates) to have the international pageant in their Yu Wenxia
