About Mileena[]

Mileena is the adoptive daughter of Shao Kahn and Lady Sindel, created by Shang Tsung's sorcery using Tarkatan physiology and Kitana’s blood. Power driven and blood thirsty. Although she idolizes Kitana, the constant rejection she receives from Kitana drives Mileena further down evil and feels that it is her own right to rule Edenia as Princess in her place. She expresses to Shao Kahn and Sindel about Kitana’s possible rebellion and that she is the weak link of the family. Her fondest wish is to kill her "sister", and claim her existence for her own.

With all female ninjas, Mileena wore a mask and tight bodysuit, with her uniform being colored in shades of pink/purple. In terms of physical features, she is identical to Kitana. However, this fades away as her visage is twisted by the Tarkatan DNA flowing in her veins, giving her a large mouth rimmed with long, pointy teeth. Mileena is a character in the Mortal Kombatfighting game franchise by Midway Games and NetherRealm Studios. Introduced in Mortal Kombat II (1993), Mileena was initially depicted as a clone of the Edenian princess Kitana, created by Shang Tsung with the blood of the fictional Tarkatan species. In the reboot entry Mortal Kombat (2011), Mileena's background as a clone of Kitana remains the same. Mortal Kombat X (2015) depicts Mileena's attempts to regain the throne as the empress of Outworld, following her removal by Kotal Kahn.

In the series' second reboot Mortal Kombat 1 (2023), significant changes were made to Mileena's character and background. Rather than a clone, Mileena is a daughter of Sindel and the older twin sister of Kitana, making her heir to the throne. However, she was infected with the Tarkat disease, developing the deformed facial features of the Tarkatan race, which she conceals with a mask.

Mileena is featured as a prominent villain throughout the series and uses a pair of sai as her primary weapons. Despite some criticism for her revealing character designs, she has received a positive reception for her unique appearance and personality. She has been featured in various media outside of the games and is one of the franchise's most popular characters.

Mortal Kombat co-creator and producer Ed Boon described Mileena and Kitana as the "female version of Scorpion and Sub-Zero", two ninja characters from the 1992 original game. Mileena was created for the 1993 sequel Mortal Kombat II as a palette-swapped complement to Kitana in order to preserve memory. She was physically identical to Kitana save for her pink outfit and large gnashing teeth, which were created to tie in with fellow debut character Baraka in symbolizing evil in the game.^&

Mileena is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. A genetic experiment created by the sorcerer Shang Tsung, she is one of the adopted daughters of the Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn and one of his personal enforcers. She has served as an antagonist throughout the series.

Mileena made her debut in Mortal Kombat II as a playable character and has been a playable character in a majority of her appearances in the series. Mileena returned in Mortal Kombat X and served as a quaternary antagonist in the game's Story Mode. She returned in Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC as part of the Kombat Pack 2.

A new version of Mileena returns in Mortal Kombat 1, serving as a supporting character in the game's Story Mode.

About Mileena

Mileena is a mutant hybrid clone of Kitana, created in Shang Tsung's flesh pits at the behest of Shao Kahn, who had become increasingly paranoid that Kitana would one day learn the truth and betray him. As a fusion of Tarkatan blood and Edenian physiology, Mileena combines and fully utilizes attributes of both races in combat, boasting incredible speed, brute strength, nimble acrobatic prowess, and frightening, carnivorous savagery matched only by Baraka.

In stark contrast to Kitana, Mileena is an evil, sadistic, cruel, twisted, hot-tempered, selfish, and psychologically unhinged opportunist whose fondest wish is to kill her "sister" and claim her existence for her own. She fights using a pair of sais and a hideous, razor-sharp Tarkatan maw which she uses to bite off chunks of human flesh and crush bones.
